I went up to the Bath Skatepark on Sunday to help judge a contest. It was a good turnout and a good time for all those that attended. Bath park is super fun and a great place to cruise around. Check out a video Jay Brown made of the Bath park a couple of years agohere.

This is my friend Ammon. He's been shredding for so long. He can somehow do "No Comply Airs" out of quarterpipes. In fifteen years of skating I have never seen anybody else do that. He is pictured here with one of the trophy decks for the comp. Ammon - you deserve a REAL pro board!

This is my friend Erich Koehler shreddin. Check out more footage of him here.

This is my friend Cory Iles. Check out his part in "Mixed Effect" here.

Portland, Maine 12.18.10

We we're hanging out in Portland and came across some people from Tim Horton's handing out free coffee. This dude wore some shit that looked like a fire extinguisher on his back and distributed coffee. It was pretty rad. This is Jay Brown stirring his coffee with his toothbrush.

We went up to Adams School after. These are my friends Jimmy Collins and Sam McKenna.

Jim works on the Discovery Channel show "American Loggers" up in Millinocket, ME. He has a blog, too, named "Shitfoot". Check it out here.

Jay Brown shreddin.

Sam McKenna shreds. Front Smith.

Jay got down on this pallet. I think he did at least 30 tricks on this damn thing. Back Nosegrind here.

Went out to Rosie's for a couple beers on Saturday night with my friend Tim Cossar. We stopped at Cumberland Farms so he could pick up a pack of butts and these dudes were attaching the bumper of there Pontiac Grand Am with zip ties in the parking lot. The cops stopped by because it was just such a ridiculous scenario. Before Tim played in his band "American Nightmare" he was in seminal Boston Youth Crew band "Ten Yard Fight". Check out a video of them here.

Thursday 12.15.10

Went down to Bull Feeney's when I got off work for the "Portland Newspaper Guild" party. It was fun hanging out and having beers with people I have known for years but only in a work environment. Everyone left around 9:30 but I kept it going for the rest of the night.

I was walking back up to the West End when I ran into my friend Adam Ballard. He lives in Austin, TX right now but he tattooed me over the summer at Death or Glory Tattoos in Westbrook. Adam is a sick skater and tattooer. Check out the Death or Glory website HERE.

Stopped into the Downtown Lounge for a bit.

Kevin Gore was chillin.

This is my friend Keagan on the right.

Saturday 12.11.10

This is in Boston on my way to El's house. The license plate reads "MDMXFAN" which I assume stands for "Mad Max Fan". It's not everyday you see someone so stoked on "Mad Max" that they get a license plate of it. I thought it was bogus though. I mean, how can you rock that license plate on any car other than what "Mad Max" drove? I think he drove a Chevy Nova or some shit but it was definitely not a BMW.
We went to this crazy fuckin double set in Cambridge. This is Desimas shreddin it.
 Desimas and Jimmy Lake.
Nick Swanson got down on this thing, too. Swanson fuckin shreds! I think he is one of the very few people who could wear a bandana while skating and not look foolish or get called out on it. He doesn't wear bandana's, I'm just saying he is so gnarly that he could rock something completely taboo in skating and get away with it. Other notable exceptions include Stu Graham, my cousin Kyle Whalon and the entire original "Menace" skate team.
My cousin Kyle once showed up at the Bath skatepark with a bloody head wound from getting in a fight the night before and getting hit with a field hockey stick. He hit the other dude with a monkey wrench and also had a gnarly bite mark on his chest from when he had the dude in a headlock. Anyway, since his head was still bloody he had to duct tape paper towels to his head as a bandage to skate. Cousin Kyle is GNARLY!
Chris Fiftal took this photo of me manning the 7D. I have no idea how that shit works, I just pushed the start/stop button.
When I got home I went to "Empire" because some of my friends were there. This a PBR road sign on the side of the urinal. I have never seen a PBR road sign before so I took a picture of it.
This is the "Mallett Brothers Band" playing at "Empire". They were really good. That dude on the right in the blue playing the lap steel guitar is was wearing cargo sweatpants. That's some ghetto hick shit if I've ever scene it. Lap Steel Guitar and cargo sweatpants. Only in Portland...
I left "Empire" after a beer because a bunch of my friends were at Amigo's. NYC has its "Max Fish" and Portland has its "Amigo's". On any given night you can find a big chunk of the Portland skate scene kicking back PBR's here. This is Dave Green and his lady Jessie. Dave fuckin shreds! One day last summer he chugged a bunch of whiskey and then did a kickflip wall ride on that bank to wall under the overpass. Doing anything and involving whisky makes shit so much cooler. Like, "Yo, homie chugged like 8 shots of whisky and cooked the ILLEST Shepard's Pie!". Sounds sicker than just saying, "I cooked Shepard's Pie", right?
This is Alex Winslow. He has the best best switch kickflips ever.
This is Reeses . Another Maine ripper!
Here is Dave Labbe. He was in THRASHER this month! Check this shit out!

Twenty Two.

It was pretty cold tonight but I'm stoked we still don't have snow on the ground in Portland. As long as the wind isn't bad it's bearable outside for a little while.

I skate on the waterfront every night if I can. This spot is so nice in the summertime. It's right on the ocean and has a wonderful view. The ground is smooth and there is some manual pads and stuff around. This is the view from the sidewalk and it's hard to tell but the ocean is 10 feet away on the right.
And on a completely unrelated note, It's never not hilarious to play Whitesnake as loud as you can on your stereo when it comes on the radio. I was stuck in traffic tonight and "Here I go Again" came on and it got played most loud as I was driving. All I can think of when I hear it is Will Farrell in "Old School". Fuckin awesome!

Geoff Bogle

This is my friend Geoff Bogle. He has always had one of the naturally smoothest styles ever. This is a sequence I shot of him over the summer at the Falmouth Ice Rink. It's a Crooked Grind to Tailslide. He also bigspinned out of the Tailslide but the camera we used only shot 4 frames per second so it was hard to tell in the sequence. Check out an old video part of his here.

Boston 12.04.10

I went down to Boston on Saturday to skate with the fellas and hangout during the last few weeks of filming for "Sea Level". It's a skate video being made by my friends Elliott Vecchia and Chris Fiftal. A bunch of my friends have full parts in it and it's going to be amazing. The tricks that I've personally witnessed go down over the last couple weeks are so sick! I'm stoked to see the finished product. Check out the "Sea Level" Promo here.

Elliott had just recently posted on his website a picture of this car and about how he always saw it around his neighborhood. I happened to see it too on my way into Brighton so I had to snap a pic of it.

We we're rolling deeper than this but here's some of the crew in Dorcester. From L-R, Elliott, Nick Swanson, Tom Grande and Desimas.

Jay Brown with a Nose Manual Nollie Three Flip. He did it like second try or something. He makes it look easy!

Desimas' part in "Sea Level" is going to be outrageous. The dude should have a pro board. He really is THAT fuckin good.

This is Kevin Coughlin AKA "KC", chillin in between doing waist high Half Cab flips in Air Jordans! His shoes we're so fuckin sick! I'm gonna get me a pair, too.

Jay Brown took the next four photos. This is a shot he took of Elliott at a ledge spot in Watertown. Elliott lit up the spot with his generator and lights and some sick fuckin tricks went down.

Elliott and KC.

It was 28 degrees outside and KC was rippin Back Smiths in a T-Shirt and Jordans! SO sick!

Then the generator ran out of gas.

Boston 12.02.10

I had today off so I cruised down to Boston and met up with Elliott and Nandez. The weather was great, we skated a couple spots and had a fun time chillin in the city. Here are some super blurry photos of Nandez and Elliott at this crazy, curved ledge at Boston University.

I dig this photo even thought it's blurry as all hell. I think it looks kinda cool.

Nandez mid Back 5050.

This ledge in the foreground has a hole in it where a sign post used to be. Water gathers in it and people put cigarettes out in it so it gets completely disgusting. I skated the ledge for awhile tonight and eventually put my left hand in it. And then of course my right hand shortly thereafter. And then both hands off and on every couple tries. My hands fuckin staaannnnkkkk so bad, haha!

Tony Le's photos.

My friend Tony Le has been taking some pretty sick photos so I took a few from his flickr site to post here. He takes photos of all kinds of stuff but here's a couple pics of the homies shredding. Check out more of his photos HERE.

This is Bobby Parent crooked grinding a sketchy rail in Portland. This thing was hard as hell to skate but Bob shredded it.

This is Kris Monson wallriding the shit outta that thannnng in Lowell, MA. I don't know how he gets that high without any transition but he does. Whenever I see Kris we're both usually hungover as shit and skating Hadley Skatepark. We gotta hit a bar sometime, Kris!
