Duty Now for the Future.

I remember watching this video at my friends house when it first came out and Jon West's part has stuck in my head from that time on as one of my favorite video parts. The line he does starting at :50 is so classic. Skating through the city in the rain at night to a soundtrack of "Sweet Jane" is perfect.

Ben Skrzypek - Everyday People

This is Ben's part from a video I made back in 2004. There is a bunch of footage he filmed out in Spain with the ORO Skateboarding heads and the rest was filmed in the Northeast with lots of footage in the Portland, ME area.

SEA LEVEL Outtakes.

Peep this vid of outtakes from "SEA LEVEL" by my friend Elliott Vecchia. The video is available for purchase on the Emulsion Apparel site (owned by my friend Chris Fiftal and co-creator of Sea Level) here.
It's a bargain for only $12. They could be charging twice as much for such a great video.

BRACE JAM 2011

BRACE JAM is a benefit for Justin Brace who is a very close friend to a lot of people I know. Come out to Rye Airfield on Sunday, April 17 at 6pm and support a great cause!

Nick Fried and Capture Skateboards.

Peep this vid of my friend Nick Fried skating out in California on a recent trip he took. And check out the Capture Skateboards website. Capture Skateboards

Saturday 03.26.11

Skated around Portland on Saturday and although it was sunny - it was so cold and so windy. The kind of wind that never stops. It's like your standing in a wind tunnel with the wind passing over ice cubes before it gets to you. Anyway, it was still fun and after skating Oceangate for a few we went to South Portland and skated around.

This is Jay Brown skating a generator. It looks fun but it's really the worst set up ever. He shredded it though.

The fellas kickin it at the spot while Sam McKenna shoots the sequence.

We chilled with Homeslice at the stoplight on the way back to Portland.

We called it a day pretty early due to the weather and my friend self administering the most ridiculous credit card to himself whilst trying to wallride some horrible spot behind a building. So after we all split I just started driving around and ended up near this bridge that I thought looked pretty cool. I ended up all the way up in Auburn before I turned around.

Fiasco.

I stumbled upon this lil' fiasco on Monday. Three firetrucks and a bunch of dudes looking like extras in "Backdraft" walking into my building. No alarms going off or nothing. What kind of emergency requires three firetrucks but no alarm?
You know that beeping sound that fire alarms make when the battery is getting low? Right now that shit is happening in my apartment building and it's loud as fuck. I think it's louder than the actual alarm and it's the worst. That shit is somewhere upstairs though and I'm not trying to deal with it.

Sangillo's Artwork.

So here it is Tuesday night and I'm listening to BFB's cover of "Ace of Spades" and kicking back a High Life except it's the remix of "Ace of Spades" with my crazy ass downstairs neighbor yelling his ass off without his meds and looking like an emaciated Kenny Fuckin Powers. Straight up, my neighbor is also named Kenny and has a fucked up jerry curl mullet just like KFP. It's ridiculous. Anyway, peep this artwork outta the restroom of Sangillo's. The Sistine Chapel it is not. 2011 America, it most certainly fuckin is. If it all goes to shit in 2012, really, who's to say we didn't have it coming?

Sunday 03.20.11

Skated in Portland, ME all day yesterday with a great crew. The weather was nice and the snow we had received on Saturday was gone.

Here we are on Melbourne street. This is Geoff Bogle and Forrest Hagerman. Forrest is about to do a 360 flip.

Jay Brown was shredding.

This is at a really sick quarterpipe spot in Portland. It had been covered by shrubs for years but the owners cleared it all out. Unfortunately, the neighbors we're not too keen on us skating there and after a run in with a screaming crazy lady who came over from across the street we had to bail.

We ran into this cat on the way out. It was super awesome and was playing in dirt. This is Forrest chilling with the cat.

Bogle with a Switch 180 Manual. He was trying Backside Bigspin out of this.

Jay with a Fakie Ollie Switch Nose Manual.

Max Fenwick mid Nose Manual Nollie Backside Heelflip out. Super sick. He almost landed it.

Sam McKenna working a Nose Manual.

Jay Ollieing a guard rail downtown.

Skynrd Summer Tour. Fuck yeah.

Sangillos.

Went to Sangillo's on Friday evening for the first time in years. They have nice tables now and expanded seating. Portland's best dive bar and a wonderful place to sing oldies with the 50+ crowd. I got that whole bar singing "The Wanderer" one night. It was like being in a music video.
Peep the Sangillo's sleeveless zip up hoody.

Boston 03.12.11

First time in over a few months I was able to jump on the highway and cruise out of state for the day and it felt fucking wonderful. Met up in Boston with Jay Brown, Leeroy and KC and a sick crew in Financial and had a blast skating. The snow was gone, the weather was warm and the homies we're shredding. For real, some ill skating went down.

Cruising through Financial.

And anothaaa.

Of course the only hippied out ride in Boston trailering some shit with flowers painted all over it was from Maine.

First time on Pearl street in years and I get this.

ESNC Commercial.

Directed, Filmed and Edited by Jay Brown on a cold February night in Portland, ME. Peep it.
