Empire.

Saturday night at Empire a couple weeks ago. Fun times with Tim, Scott and Geoff. We were there with a bunch of other people too but I don't have pics of them. Anyway, pretty cool bar. Seems like a place people graduate to after going to Amigo's for a few years.

Stage Fright

"Stage Fright" is a rock n roll band influenced by Rose Tattoo, Motorhead and various other bands with a similar attitude towards music. The idea of starting a rock n roll band began back in 2004 between Nate Baxter and myself. We had attended Mt. Ararat high school together and grew up in the "hardcore" scene seeing bands like Agnostic Front, Blood for Blood, Madball, Death Threat and Hatebreed. At about the same time we both started listening to music that was more along the lines of street punk and classic rock and decided we wanted to start a rock n roll band. It wasn't until 2008 that we finally formed a solid lineup and began playing out live. We played shows as far north as Bowdoinham, ME and as far south as Lowell, MA and after a year long hiatus we got back together for our first practice last night. It was a super fun time and we're looking forward to playing out again in the near future.

Geoff Bogle handles lead vocalist duties.

Nate Baxter plays lead guitar.

Joey Cousins holds down the drums.

And I play bass. This is my bass rig/beer holder.
Check out a couple Mp3's from our early days as a band here.

Saturday Amigo's.

Saturday night at Amigo's. Love it. It's like walking into the "Cheers" bar because lots of people you know and dig are kicking it and drinking beers, too. By far my favorite spot in Portland to bend the elbow. My friend once lit a bottle rocket off inside the bar and didn't get in trouble.

Took a picture of the Miller High Life mobile on way downtown. I have also seen a PBR adorned one around town as well. Are these common in other cities or is it just Portland that gets the scummed out rides?

Raz chugging a beer as Eli and Geoff observe.

Jward loves America and America loves Jward. He has been my good friend for many years and has almost gotten me killed and arrested many times over those years. Now that, is fuckin AMERICA!

Very lovely couple here. Siobhan and Geoff get intimate for Visual Find.

Siobhan and Bethany kickin it.

Friday 01.28.11

Went down to Brian Boru's with Jay Brown and grabbed a couple beers. Mo met up with us and we had a solid crew. The bar staff is cool as shit but the clientele sucks. There was ONE cool person in that ENTIRE bar besides us. It was a girl named Stephanie out with all her co-workers from the law firm they worked at. She had way more fun chilling with us than the stiffs she came with. Oh shit, I just remembered, I worked the door at this place one night. I walked up and sat in the chair the doorman uses and straight up started carding people. Haha, it was super ridiculous and I did it for about 15 minutes until the real doorman came back around. Then I just went in and drank beers.

This is Mo and Jay. The heater in the background was basically a big ass hairdryer. It was like standing in a hot ass wind tunnel.

After being completely nauseated with Boru's we headed down to Amigo's and then Joe's New York Pizza at closing time. This is a photo of people fighting in front of Joe's. Some girl tried to punch this dude but right as she went to punch the guy she started skidding on the snow. She skidding about two feet and ended up right in his face and they made up. A bunch of other people jumped in though and this is that part of it.

Another photo of the lil' scenario.

Sundaaayyyyyy Night.

I was tired as all hell on Sunday after being up until 4am on Saturday and then getting a phone call at 8am on Sunday. It was one of my old school friends so I wanted to pick it up and catch up with him despite being half asleep. Guilty parties shall remain nameless but my buddy was telling me stories of spiking peoples shots of whiskey with acid and living in a squat house that is so hooked up, it has a fuckin NetFlix account. Seriously, who else squats in a house that has a fuckin NetFlix account, 60 inch flat screen TV and is pre-furnished?

This is Mo Petit and Tim Cossar all up in Amigo's. I once saw Mo open a walnut in Bull Feeney's by head butting it. He also entered Amigo's one night back in the day by "Superman Diving" over the fence. It got it him banned forever, but I guess forever in bar time is only a week because that's all it took for him to get back in.

This is my friend Scott O'Leary shooting pool. Scott and I go way back and I'm stoked he lives right down the street from me in Portland.

No Comply Frontside Air.

This is my friend Ammon doing a No-Comply Frontside Air. How sick is this? I've never seen anybody else do this shit.

SEA LEVEL

"Sea Level" is a skateboard video that my friends Elliott Vecchia and Chris Fiftal made and it is completely amazing! A bunch of my good friends have outstanding parts in it and I was fortuneate enough to film some clips with Elliott for the friends section. I was so stoked to be in it. Everything about the video is top notch from the skating to the filming, editing, graphic design and soundtrack.

Last night I attended the premiere at Mass Art in Boston to a completely packed auditorium. I rolled down with Sam McKenna, P1 and Garret Brooks. I was stoked to bring along a squad of Mainer's. It was also great to see so many good friends I haven't seen in awhile! Great vid and great times!

To purchase "Sea Level" click HERE.

This is VERY early before the place got packed. It got to the point where people were standing in the back because there weren't anymore seats.

This is the DVD. I really dig the Graphic Design. Dave DiAngelis did a great job.
